PULSE

Community reporting that turns evidence of extractive-sector harm into institutional response and remedy.

In pilotPiloted with community monitors in 2025 and 2026.

The challenge.

Communities affected by mining, oil and gas rarely have a safe way to record harm. Their reports seldom reach the institutions that can act, and responses are not tracked.

PULSE (Platform for Unified Logging of Social and Environmental Impacts) lets communities document the social and environmental impacts of extractive industries in Nigeria. Hyrax built it for Motherhen Development Foundation.

Reports are reviewed, verified and, where approved, referred to the institutions responsible, which are then tracked until there is a response or remedy.
